The African Attachment is an award winning creative house, established in 2006 by Greg Fell and Dean Leslie. Based in Cape Town, “TAA” offers a full creative service solution to Producers and Clients both locally and abroad.
The African Attachment has been instrumental in the growth and production of global outdoor brand Salomon Sports’ documentary series, Salomon Running TV. Since launching this series in 2011, TAA has produced over 50 documentaries for Salomon and they are currently in post-production on Season 5 and moving into pre-production on Season 6.
In 2012 TAA was responsible for the acclaimed short, “The Beauty of the Irrational”; in 2014 they produced, alongside Red Bull Media House, the documentary “Travailen” – an ambitious and beautifully executed documentation of Ryan Sandes and Ryno Griesel’s attempt of the 220km Drakensberg Grand Traverse; in 2015 they released “Xuanzang’s Way”, a documentary about the inaugural 400km Ultra Trail Gobi Race.
Their most recent project took place in early 2016 – a short documentary series under the title, “7 Deserts Run” for Chinese based NPO Thirst. This project followed Mina Guli as she ran the equivalent of 40 marathons across 7 deserts on 7 continents in just 7 weeks to raise awareness for the world’s current water scarcity crisis.
To date, TAA have produced and filmed content on all 7 continents, have over 9 million hits across their online portfolio and have had their work feature at a host of local and international film festivals.
This young independent film company is continuously growing and pushing boundaries and is at the forefront of a new wave of commercial independent filmmaking.
